Welcome to the Mine!

Welcome to the Mine!

So recently I was called into my Boss' office with a couple of students and we had a very long meeting all about how the children at school were using the internet and their computers...
Boring.
But one thing that came up was that many of the younger kids had been playing an online multiplayer shooter in their web browser... This concerned my Boss (strangers!? On the internet!?).

Immediately after that I was interviewed by my local paper and they described me as an "Online Game Developer" (I told them I post some of the games I make online...), and I'd hate to make them liars.

So, inspiration struck, and I worked most of the weekend on getting something put together so that the children can shoot each other as much as they like, without interacting with strangers on the internet. Ultimately, this will be deployed in a LAN fashion on all of the school computers eventually. When I get around to it.

For now though, you get it!

Battle it out to see who can get 5 kills first without dying! Good luck, it's difficult. Especially with the arrows being so slow... That means they can be dodged. A tactic which you may want to use with your limited health.

This game is currently in early beta, so to quit it you may need to press Alt+F4 (or Cmd+Q on a Mac) because I haven't gotten to programming that part yet.  It's still very unpolished, as evidenced by my very own knock off of the Two Worlds map from the original Unreal Engine (that will be changing to more of a theme appropriate setting).

Other plans for the future of this project include (in no specific order or importance):

  • Team mode
  • Multiple maps (to be chosen by the server)
  • Music! I like music
  • Proper SFX (I've taken these straight from Unity and Freesound.org so far)
  • Fixes to the UI and Player names
  • Bots and AI Similar to the Zombarchery game so you don't always have to play with friends
  • More! (idk what yet, depends on how many people buy this I guess)

Thanks for supporting me in what I love! As of this stage, the multiplayer is very limited on my side as to what I can provide, if it weren't for that I'd be opening this project up for free.
